How credits work

One credit covers about 2,000 tokens of AI processing. Here is what actions cost and how allowances reset.

1 min read

Brainis Credits are the single unit for AI work. Everything that is not AI - modules, users, storage within plan limits - is covered by your plan, with no extra charge per module or per user.

The unit

One credit covers roughly 2,000 tokens of AI processing (input and output combined). You never manage tokens directly; actions have flat, predictable costs.

What actions cost

Quick AI assist in Work OS1
Bulk AI operation in Work OS3

Cortex quick answer2

Cortex Autopilot pass6

Costs are shown before you confirm expensive operations, and every spend is itemized in your usage view.

Monthly allowance and reset

Every plan includes a monthly allowance: 50 on Free, 750 on Starter, 3,000 on Growth, 10,000 on Business. Plan credits reset each month on your billing anniversary and unused plan credits do not roll over.

Top-ups never expire

One-off top-up packs are separate from the plan allowance and never expire. Brainis spends plan credits first, then top-ups. See Buying credit top-ups.

Tip: If your team reliably runs out mid-month, a plan upgrade is cheaper per credit than repeated top-ups. Top-ups are for spikes.

When credits run out

AI features pause; nothing else does. Your modules, data, and team keep working normally, and any scheduled AI runs resume when credits are available again.
