Glossary
What we mean by the words we use: one meaning, one right way to say it, one wrong one. The site and the app use the same names, so if you meet a word in the app, it’s here.
- Brainis
- The product, the company and the system.
- Right: Brainis turns your strategy into missions.Not: the brainis platform enables…
- Cortex
- The part of Brainis that thinks with you: it reads where things stand, asks the question that decides it, maps the options, sets up the missions, keeps watch and brings you what needs you.
- Right: Cortex flags the one thing holding you back in your Monday brief.Not: Chat with Cortex AI, your virtual assistant!
- Company State
- The live picture of your business, each fact with its source.
- Right: Each fact in your Company State shows where it came from and how fresh it is.Not: We store all your data in one place.
- Objective
- A goal you can measure, with a deadline.
- Right: Objective: 10 design partners in 30 days.Not: Set your goals and dreams!
- Strategy
- The plan you chose for reaching an objective. It has versions, and approving it records a decision.
- Right: Approve the strategy, and Brainis turns it into missions.Not: Download your strategy PDF.
- Strategy Engine
- The part that asks you questions (all at once, A to Z, or together, step by step) and builds eight connected plans. It used to be called “Strategy OS”.

- Blueprint
- The connected plans a strategy produces: business plan, brand, marketing, media, website, agent tools, go-to-market and leads.
- Right: Change the target customer, and the blueprint shows the six sections that must change.Not: your documents folder
- Mission
- A piece of work tied to a result: the outcome, who owns it, the budget, what done looks like, how it’s checked and how it’s measured.

- Mission Control
- The part that hands each piece of work to the right worker. It used to be called “Delivery OS”.

- Play
- A ready-made way to get a job done, which you can run again and again.
- Right: Run the ‘revive stalled deals’ play.Not: automation (a play can include your decisions and checks)
- Agent
- An AI worker, from any provider, working inside limits you set. Never Brainis itself, and never a Brainis employee.
- Right: A coding agent fixed the signup bug; a different checker re-ran the tests.Not: our AI employees
- Agent Fleet
- The part that runs AI models from any provider as workers. On technical pages, “Brainis Runtime”.
- Right: The Agent Fleet runs big and specialist models as workers, and Brainis stays the employer.Not: our multi-model router
- Brainis MCP
- How agents reach your company’s tools and facts, and the only way they can.
- Right: The agent could read interviews and write CRM drafts. Nothing else.Not: agents have full access to your workspace
- Verify
- The separate check on finished work (it used to be “Quality OS”). It gives the “Verified by Brainis” mark.
- Right: Verify rejected the landing page for a claim we couldn’t back up.Not: AI double-checks itself
- What I do on my own
- By default, I ask before I act. You can let me do more on my own, one area at a time, with a budget and an end date, and take it back anytime.
- Right: Research runs on its own; pricing still waits for your yes.Not: an on/off switch for the whole company
- Outcome
- What really changed, next to what was predicted.
- Right: Predicted 8–14 qualified conversations; actual: 11.Not: calling a deliverable an outcome
- Decision Ledger
- The record of what was known, what was recommended, what was decided and what happened. A later edit can’t go unnoticed.
- Right: The ledger shows what we believed when we chose this.Not: audit log
- Business World Model
- Our own model for predicting what happens next in a business (with the Company State Encoder and the Decision model, tested by BusinessBench).
- Right: The World Model’s prediction comes with a range and a version.Not: our AI knows business better than anyone
- The AI Suite / [Domain] AI
- The department products: Hiring AI, People AI, Revenue AI, Finance AI, Work AI (work management only), Marketing AI, Product AI, Customer AI, Operations AI, Knowledge AI, Analytics AI (dashboards, reports, BI), Communication AI and Wellness AI.
- Right: Revenue AI is a real CRM, and agents work inside it through MCP.Not: “Delivery AI” (a made-up name); “Work AI runs the OS” (old positioning)
- Your team
- Your own people, inside missions.
- Right: Your team reviews the draft before it goes out.Not: “our team” in a sentence about doing your work
- Design Partner
- An early customer who helps shape what we build, and runs Brainis themselves.
- Right: Design Partners get a direct line to the founders.Not: a founding-partner setup package
- Progress
- The hub for challenges, badges and streaks. Its name keeps “Mission” free for real work.
- Right: Your Progress streak is at 12 days.Not: calling the rewards hub a Mission
