Slack is the most-used integration, and the one that changes daily habits most.
Connecting
An org admin connects Slack from the integrations settings via OAuth. You authorize the workspace once; individual users do not each need to connect.
What it enables
- ›Notifications: assignments, mentions, approvals, and digests delivered to channels or DMs.
- ›Approvals in place: approve or reject AI proposals from Slack without opening the app.
- ›Cortex in Slack: ask questions and get grounded answers in a channel.
- ›Channel creation and file upload: automations can create channels and post files.
Configuring what flows
Notification routing is configurable per event type. Start narrow: approvals and direct mentions only. Teams that pipe everything into Slack on day one mute the channel by day three, which defeats the purpose.
Permissions
Slack delivery respects Brainis permissions. A summary posted to a channel shows only what the requesting user could see, and sensitive modules are excluded from broad channel delivery.
Tip: Route approvals to a dedicated channel rather than DMs when more than one person can approve. Shared visibility prevents the bottleneck of one person's unread messages.
